The Wiener Werkstätte Archive in the MAK contains a multitude of previously unpublished documents of great artistic sophistication on the design and production of lace and embroidery between 1906 and 1930. Together with objects preserved in the museum, sketches and designs by such important artists as Josef Hoffmann and Dagobert Peche of Maria Likarz-Strauss and Mathilde Flögl as well as blueprints, bobbin lace patterns, sample portfoloios, and historical photographs convey an authentic picture of this little-known department of the Wiener Werkstätte.

Edited by Christoph Thun-Hohenstein and Angela Völker, with texts by Christoph Thun-Hohenstein and Angela Völker.

The most important artists: Dagobert Peche, Fritzi Löw-Lazar, Hilda Jesser-Schmid, Anny Schröder-Ehrenfest, Irene Schaschl-Schuster, Mathilde Flögl, Vally Wieselthier, Felice Rix-Ueno, Maria Likarz-Strauss, Maximilian Snischek, Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill, Josef Hoffmann
